The new Confluence Films movie project “Providence” is now in the final stages of production, with a scheduled release and premiere date on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Confluence is pleased to offer independent promoters, fly shops, fishing clubs and other organizations the opportunity to set up an exclusive area screening and premiere event to coincide with the release of the new film.
In the past, Confluence has always been happy to offer these premiere and early screenings opportunities to entities and organizations that were (A) willing to screen the films in the proper venues in a professional, high-quality manner, and (B) give a portion of event proceeds and profits back to a local or regional fisheries-based conservation group or project. Through past screening offerings, Confluence has helped raise more than $300,000.00 for fisheries conservation over the past five years. By synchronizing the October 2016 fall premiere, retailers, clubs and other entities will be able to offer the “very first chance” to view the new Confluence movie on the big- screen in their hometown or area. It will also enable Confluence and the film’s sponsors (Costa, Simms, Hatch, Yeti and Yellow Dog) to better promote the overall network of premiere night events as “The Biggest Single Night of Fly Fishing Film in the World.”

Filming for the new “Providence” project took place in the fall of 2015 with the FlyCastaway crew on Providence Atoll in the Seychelles. Confluence’s Jim Klug, Chris Patterson and Colin Witherill, Yellow Dog’s Camille Egdorf, and FlyCastaway’s Gerhard Laubscher and Tim Babich joined forces to create the new project, which is the fifth, full-length film from Confluence. The new movie chronicles FlyCastaway’s first trip back to Providence Atoll since the waters were closed to all fishermen and boat access more than six years ago due to the threats and activities of pirates operating out of Somalia. The team returned in October of 2015, spending three weeks exploring the atoll and fishing for multiple ats species including giant trevally, blue fin trevally, bumphead parrot fish, bone sh, Indo-Pacific permit, trigger fish, milkfish and more. Simms, Costa del Mar, Hatch, YETI and Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures are all sponsors of the new movie.
If you are interested in setting up a screening and reserving a dates for your area, please contact Confluence Films right away. Please remember that all screenings will need to take place in a legitimate theater or screening location with proper projection, sound and seating. The other stipulation is that a portion of the profits and proceeds from screening event will need to be donated to a fisheries-based conservation group or project of your choice.
